Spa breaks and other incentives to holiday in Newquay

Newquay is by far one of the most picturesque spots in the county of Cornwall, a county widely considered to be the most beautiful in the country. Cornwall has more going for it than just its beaches, particularly the UK’s premier surf break at Fistral Beach, as it’s got a bountiful amount of delights providing untold incentives to take a holiday here. One of the incentives to doing so is to combine time on one of the countless sandy beaches in the area with time spent relaxing in some decidedly un-ocean like water, like that found in any of the many spa resorts located throughout the UK. There’s something therapeutic about water, something which has fascinated humans for thousands of years and it may interest many to know that this is how seaside resorts and spas came about, from interest in the therapeutic qualities of water. Many seaside resorts came about from the belief that seawater had therapeutic qualities and so those with money began taking their holidays in places like Newquay, in order to take advantage of the opportunity to bathe in the sea. Spa towns also increased in popularity as many began to ‘take to the waters’ in order to reap the health benefits which were frequently extolled at the time. Whilst there are a few spa towns in the UK, most notably Bath and the ‘Royal’ towns of Royal Leamington Spa and Royal Tunbridge Wells, nowadays traveling great distances isn’t necessary as resorts are abundant throughout the country.

As spa breaks can be taken throughout the country no one has to travel all the way to Newquay, but that won’t stop thousands from making their way there, especially in the warmer months when the population of the town and surrounding areas swells significantly. Spa patrons can spend as much or as little time as they wish taking to the waters and indulging themselves, and those who feel as though they’d get bored lazing in the tub all day might be pleasantly surprised to find that there’s much more to these resorts than bubbly water. There’s also much more to a Newquay holiday than relaxing and swimming at some of the most attractive beaches in the country, as the gastronomic delights of the countless world class restaurants is another of the numerous reasons why Newquay is the place to stay by the sea. Golf is one of many activities frequently engaged in whilst on a weekend away, for as golf is a leisurely sport, it’s perfectly suited to a relaxing weekend shunning the world as much as is possible. No one with discerning taste buds shuns Newquay, for as it still remains to this day a fishing village, many come for the seafood served up fresh at one of the numerous restaurants renowned for the freshest seafood to be found anywhere in the country. Gastronomic delights are another reason why so many extol the virtues of a weekend away as indulging one’s taste buds is also akin to feeling great.

spa hotels are easy to find online, as is accommodation in Newquay. As mentioned earlier, there are countless resorts to be found throughout the country which not only means patrons won’t have to travel far, but that they're also spoiled for choice regarding which one to relax at. Holidaymakers planning a trip to Newquay in the near future are also spoilt for choice, as amongst many other things, like sand, sea and seafood, Newquay is also abundant in holiday accommodations, everything from simple guesthouses and holiday parks to five star hotels. The accommodation provided at the countless resorts that dot the countryside are outstanding and perfectly compliment the alluring qualities that aquatic therapy provides, but as alluded to before, there’s much more to a break at a spa resort than just immersing oneself in soothing water, as there’s other activities to engage in which accentuate and heighten the pleasure of stepping into a steaming bath. A steaming bath is the perfect way to wash the sand and salt from one’s skin after a splash in the sea at either Tolcarne or the Great Western, two of the most popular sandy beaches in Newquay, and visitors to the area will love the fact that there’s a cornucopia of accommodation within walking distance from both these beaches, much of which is surprisingly affordable, which means that like a weekend at a spa, making reservations is essential so as to avoid the inherent disappointment in finding that all are fully booked.
